Bon Vivant club
Generational wines speaking in native tongues
Bon Vivant Club is a monthly tasting event that features natural, organic and biodynamic wines. Each night will focus on a region and feature 5 or 6 bottles that exemplify different zones and styles within that region. By doing this we hope to emphasize what is arguably wine’s greatest attribute: it’s ability to tell a true story of the place in which it was produced.
We don't believe that a tasting event needs to follow a prescribed format. We believe that tasting should be just that: tasting. It is an opportunity to drink wine that one would normally not be able to enjoy by the glass. This includes declassified wines (those producers who eschew government regulated classification systems to produce wines that are often decidedly more esoteric, using varietals that are sometimes uncommon or solely indigenous) and more caché wines - you know, the bottle on the top shelf at your local wine shop with the beautiful label and the prohibitive price tag that you've had your eye on. Is it over-priced? How long has it been sitting there? We do the leg work so you don't have to.
We'd love it if you came down and drank some superlative wine with us. We'll tell you a little bit about it but we won't talk your ear off. We encourage, but don't demand or expect, you to talk about it as well. After all, sometimes talking gets in the way of the real important work at hand: drinking very good wine. To top it all off: anybody who attends a Bon Vivant Club tasting receives a membership to Bon Vivant Club, which guarantees members 15% off all wine purchased at R Bar for one month every time you attend a tasting.
